ANCIENT WRITING &
BOOK TECHNOLOGY
This exhibit will feature many different examples of ancient writings at the time of the Bible as well as showcase the different technologies used to record the written word.
ANCIENT ARCHAEOLOGY
This exhibit will feature different replications of artifacts from biblical times including the top piece of the Hammurabi code and the Gilgamesh epic.
JESUS ARTIFACTS
On display will be several replica artifacts from the crucifixion, authentic artifacts such as coins from the time period of Christ, and ancient writings.
THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS
This exhibit will feature reproductions of fragments of the Old Testament found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, a miniature replica of a Dead Sea clay pot, as well as other related items of interest.
EARLY MANUSCRIPTS
This exhibit includes replicas and facsimiles of some of the earliest codices of the New Testament, dating back to the 2nd and 3rd century.
MEDIEVAL TIMES
Several replicas/reproductions of Bibles from the medieval period will be on display. Observe the stunning illumination and manuscript work of monks from this period in history.
GUTENBERG PRESS
Learn about the technical innovation of the Gutenberg Printing Press. View a replica of the Gutenberg Bible in addition to other early replicas of the first printed Bibles.
LUTHER & GERMANY
This exhibit will feature an original 1599 Luther Bible in addition to a reproduction from 1534.
EARLY ENGLISH BIBLES
Experience an original 1549 Tyndale New Testament and several replicas of Wycliffe and Tyndale Bibles from the 14th-16th centuries. See John Foxe’s Acts and Monuments with amazing woodcut images as well as Bibles from the Reformation period.
EARLY AMERICAN
This exhibit will include a copy of the Mayflower compact as well as several Bibles from 19th century America, some featuring stunning artwork.
KIDS ROOM
Parents will accompany their children to this room, where kids can complete crafts centered around Biblical illumination, manuscript copying, and tracing of Greek letters.
